If you fancy a good drive with plenty to see and do then drive to Sophia . you can go through Serbia or Hungary depending on what you want to see
Comming back you go through Greece. Get ferry over to Italy and back that way
Done the trip a few times with work. Would love to do it in a car for a change instead of a 40 tonne lorry

i read somewhere that route 66 anywhere interesting was bypassed buy a new highway consequently anything that was left is just black and ruin now there really is nothing much to see
It was only a song that made it famous

Take a slight detour when at the arizona/nevada border and stay in Laughlin, its a mini las vegas and great fun.

Spent the last few hours looking through different websites (If my boss reads this, that is code for I just spent the last few hours working really hard)
As much as Route 66 goes through some places i'd like to go, there isn't a huge amount of stuff that majorly interests me.
The PCH does look excellent as does the Golden Triangle which would also give me more time to spend with friends I have out there.
